Item Description
1.75x3.25" candy card from the set of 144 featuring players from the Pacific Coast League. Superb photo front, blank back. Next to the elusive Fatty Arbuckle card, this is the key card in the set. Great image of him in his Sacramento Senators uniform. This is the one and only year he played in the Pacific Coast League and a few years before gaining baseball stardom with the Brooklyn Robins, joining that team in 1922. Charles Arthur "Dazzy" Vance was the only pitcher to lead the National League in strikeouts seven consecutive seasons. He was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1955. In 2011 a SGC 40 VG 3 example of this card sold at auction for $2,643. A very desirable card for this legend of the diamond. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
