Item Description
From same set as #1129. Card front reads "Santa Clara B.B.C. Duncan-Catcher." Slight margin trim but both sides of card remain very clean and image is distinct. Duncan was a star of the Negro Leagues, primarily as a catcher for the Kansas City Monarchs helping the team win five pennants between 1923 and 1931 including the 1924 Negro League World Series. Other teams he played for included the Chicago Giants, Pittsburgh Crawfords and New York Cubans. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
