Item Description
c. late 1950s designs for a proposed premium. Each design is on a vellum sheet w/art in lead and colored pencil w/some hand painted text and these have been applied to an actual cereal box to show how final product design would look. The box is “Kellogg’s Sugar Frosted Flakes.” Box has ©1958, back offers premium “Western Stage Coach”. Applied box front art is 6.5” wide and shows hand holding rocket which “Shoots Satellite Into Space”. Art has box back original art glued to thin cardboard has 6.5x8” image area w/boy launching satellite as girl watches. Lower right has “Actual Size” image of premium. “Post” logo is an applied stat, all else is original art w/hand lettered text. Sheet has lt. dust soil, otherwise bright and VF. Both are nicely done, enhanced by mock-up use of actual vintage cereal box. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
