Item Description
1.75x3" stiff card lightly tanned overall, which includes an applied real photo on the upper left corner. Train was a fascinating American personality who ran as an independent for President in 1872. He was a staunch supporter of the temperance movement and was dedicated to women's rights serving as the primary financier of the newspaper The Revolution, published by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Additional text on the card front includes the slogans "Equal Justice To All. Favors To Friends Alone" with a rectangle at lower left "We The People, Not I. The King." Back of the card has his bold ink inscription "Kind Regards/Geo. Francis Train" followed by three letters, meaning unknown to us, but appearing to be "N.P.N." Hairline .25" crease on the upper right edge but not a break through the paper. Rare. Comes with Hake's COA.
