Item Description
3.25x5.5" generic postcard postmarked July 5, 1952 with a stamped address on the obverse and the signature of Hoyt Wilhelm on the reverse. Hoyt Wilhelm, nicknamed "Old Sarge", was a MLB pitcher for nine different teams over the course of 20 seasons. He won 124 games, still the most for a relief pitcher, and was the first to save 200 games and appear in 1,000. He was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1985. This signed postcard would make a great accompanying piece for a Hoyt Wilhelm rookie display as his very tough to find rookie card was issued as part of the highly desirable 1952 Topps baseball card set. This postcard shows scattered light wear and aging. VF-Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
