Item Description
3.25x5.5" vintage government postcard signed by Detroit Tigers pitching great, Paul "Dizzy" Trout. Dizzy began his professional baseball career in 1939 for Detroit, where he would go on to star for the next 13 seasons, through 1952. Trout would move on to the Boston Red Sox later in 1952 and was out of the Major Leagues following that season until 1957 when he briefly resurfaced with the Baltimore Orioles before retiring at the end of the year. Dizzy finished w/a career record of 170-161, an ERA of 3.23 and 1,256 career strikeouts. Postcard has a cancellation date of May 20, 1953 from New York, NY. Signature remains clear and legible, signed boldly in period ink. Card is evenly aged and shows lt. corner tip wear. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
