Item Description
3.25x5.5" vintage government postcard signed by Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Braves star outfielder Bob Elliott. Elliott began his MLB career w/Pittsburgh in 1939, playing there through the 1946 season. After that, Elliott moved on to the Boston Braves, where he would spend the next five seasons through 1951. Subsequently, Elliott would make brief stops in New York, St. Louis and Chicago before retiring after the 1953 season. Elliott finished his MLB career w/a 289 batting average, 170 homers and 1,195 RBIs. Postcard has not been postally canceled.  Signature remains clear and legible, signed boldly in period ink. Postcard is evenly aged and VF overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
