3.25x5.5" vintage government postcard signed by Detroit Tigers star first baseman Rudy York. York began his MLB career w/Detroit in 1934, staying w/them through the 1945 season. York would then spend two years w/the Boston Red Sox 1946-47 before winding up his career w/Chicago and then Philadelphia for one season each; retiring in 1948. York finished w/career numbers of .275 along w/277 home runs and 1,149 RBIs. Postcard has a cancellation date of June 4, 1948 from Philadelphia, PA. Signature remains clear and legible, signed boldly in period ink. Postcard is evenly aged and has some corner wear. Still VF overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
