Item Description
3.25x5.5" vintage government postcard signed by Philadelphia Athletics star pitcher Jack Coombs. Coombs began his MLB career w/the Athletics in 1906, playing there through the 1914 season. Coombs would spend the next four seasons w/Brooklyn, from 1915-18 before finishing his career w/Detroit in 1920. Coombs finished his career w/a record of 158-110 w/an ERA of 2.78 and 1,052 strikeouts. Postcard has cancellation date of June 25, 1948 from Philadelphia, PA. Signature remains clear and legible, signed boldly in period ink. Postcard has evenly aged and is VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
