Item Description
3.25x5.5" generic postcard has stamped name/address from the household of a young Richard Merkin. Blank opposite has been boldly signed in blue ink by Baseball HOF member Johnny Mize (1913-1993), who played for 15 seasons between 1936 and 1953, losing three seasons to military service during World War II. Mize was a ten-time All-Star who played for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants and the New York Yankees. During his tenure w/the Yankees, the team won five consecutive World Series. He was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1981. Mize has signed his first name as "John." Postcard has  July 11, 1952 Brooklyn, NY postmark. Card has lt., even aging and some lt. scattered wear from mailing. VF overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
