Item Description
3.25x5.5" generic postcard has inked name/address and blank opposite has been signed in black ink by Baseball HOF member Larry Doby (1923-2003), a player in the Negro Leagues and MLB who was the second black player to break baseball's color barrier and the first black player in the American League, playing for the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. He was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1998. Doby has added "Best Wishes" inscription above his signature. Postcard has May 17, 1948 Cleveland, OH postmark. Card has lt., even aging and is Exc. overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
