Item Description
2-5/8x3.5" card No. 24 issued by Laughlin in 1974. Front has been signed in black felt tip pen by James "Cool Papa" Bell (1903-1991), whose baseball career is as storied as any player in the Negro Leagues and he is widely considered one of baseball's greatest players. He was inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 1974, well ahead of many of his peers. Some consider this to be Bell's Rookie Card as he never appeared on a baseball card during his playing days. This card represents the earliest card issued for Bell. EX. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
