Item Description
16x23" artboard w/pen and ink original art for July 5, 1970 Sunday page by Dan Barry (1923-1997), who revived the Flash Gordon comic strip in 1951 w/Harvey Kurtzman, additionally taking over Sunday page art duties when Mac Raboy died in 1967. Barry worked on the Flash Gordon strip until 1990. Sunday page features total of nine panels, including title panel w/title stat paste-over. Story features Flash confronting mad scientist Gregor Gaborsk, asking him to share his discoveries w/the world. Gregor declines and his henchman absconds w/the notes, only for the wind to scatter them across the land. Flash appears in five panels. KFS copyright strip in fifth panel. Barry has signed in black felt tip pen at bottom right and margins have some scattered notations. Art has some faint glue staining around title stat, o/w art remains clean and Exc.
