Item Description
Each is a 13/16" tin litho. While the same design as the PR2 issue (see previous lot) and many of the same players, there are notable differences. First, this set is unnumbered. Second, there are no variants. Third and most importantly, there are more (and different) players represented in this set, including HOFers. This set has 17 HOF members in total. Nine are also in PR2: Kiki Cuyler, Earl Averill, Dizzy Dean, Jimmy Foxx, Burleigh Grimes, Mickey Cochrane, Ernie Lombardi, Billy Herman and Al Simmons. This PR3 set did not include the four additional Yankees HOFers in PR2 but instead added eight others: Lefty Grove, Chick Hafey, Jesse Haines, Gabby Hartnett, Rogers Hornsby, Ted Lyons, Connie Mack and Paul Waner. One button, Gabby Hartnett has been PSA-graded as NM 7. The rest of the set has scattered small traces of wear w/some paint nicks and scratches as to be expected on these litho buttons. A few also have tiny indent, really only noticeable upon close inspection. Overall most remain glossy and color is strong on all. By our button grading standards, set is mostly Fine to VF, but with some lower and some higher. A classic set and even harder to assemble than PR2.
