Item Description
3.25x5.5" government postcard postmarked Brooklyn N.Y., his one and only major league baseball team between 1948 and 1957 is dated April 19, 1952 addressed to Herman C. Merkin, Richard Merkin's father. Reverse side has bold autograph in fountain pen ink. A few lt. handling creases. Overall Fine with nice signature done during his playing days. Dodgers catcher Roy Campanella (1921-1993) had his major league career cut short in 1958 when he was paralyzed in an automobile accident. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. Would be great to display with a photo. See previous item Puerto Rico All Stars photo with Campanella #1343. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
