Item Description
3-5/8x4-5/8" photo c.1930 shows Heffner in the then-Minor League Baltimore Orioles uniform holding glove standing in front of dugout with crowded stadium in bkg. Bottom of photo has nice fountain pen signature. Photo is printed a bit lightly, otherwise photo and autograph are Exc. Heffner would go on to play with the New York Yankees 1934-1937, St. Louis Browns 1938-1943, Philadelphia Athletics 1943, and Detroit Tigers in 1944. He managed the San Diego Padres, winning the 1962 championship, and became third base coach of the New York Mets in 1964-1965. He also managed the Cincinnati Reds in 1965-1966. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
