Kemble (1861-1933) worked for “Life, Collier’s, Harper’s Weekly” and other magazines and also illustrated books including Twain’s “Huckleberry Finn” and Joel Chandler Harris’ “Uncle Remus Stories”. Kemble was noted for his sympathetic images of African-Americans. His own books include “The Blackberries, A Coon Alphabet, Comical Coons”. A superb example, great for display.
